2010 Three Rivers Regatta Safety Zone Info Released

The U.S. Coast Guard recently released the description and chart of the river closures for July 3rd and 4th. Please keep in mind that the safety zones are always subject to change due to weather conditions and other various factors.
The official desciption released by the U.S.C.G. states:
The U.S. Coast Guard will establish Safety Zones at various times and locations on July 3rd and 4th to provide for the safety of spectators during the 2010 Three Rivers Regatta. Details: On Saturday July 3, 2010 a Safety Zone for Powerboat Races will be in effect from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm, 3:30 pm until 5:30 pm, and 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The Powerboat Safety Zone extends from mile marker 0.05 (Pumphouse on the Point) to mile marker 0.4 (6th Street Bridge) on the Allegheny River, extending the entire width of the river. There will be brief breaks from approximately 3:00 pm until 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm until 6:00 pm for marine traffic to pass through the area. On Sunday July 4, 2010 a Safety Zone for Powerboat Races will be in effect from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm, 4:30 pm until 6:30 pm, and 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The Powerboat Safety Zone extends from mile marker 0.05 (Pumphouse on the Point) to mile marker 0.4 (6th Street Bridge) on the Allegheny River, extending the entire width of the river. There will be breaks from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm until 7:00 pm for marine traffic to pass through the area. Additionally, a second Safety Zone for Fireworks will be in effect on July 4th from 9:00 pm until 10:30 pm. The Fireworks Safety Zone extends from mile marker 0.5 on the Ohio River (the meeting point of Casino Drive and the Three Rivers Trail) to mile marker 0.05 on the Allegheny River (Pumphouse, 330 feet from the Point up-river) and to mile marker 0.05 on the Monongahela River (Bathhouse, 330 feet from the Point up-river), extending the entire width of the rivers. The Coast Guard advises the public that persons and vessels shall not be moored or anchored in, enter into, depart from, or move within any established safety zones unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port Pittsburgh or his authorized representative.
