Ditch That Cabin Fever; Check Out The Boat Show
Sunday, January 06, 2008
This time of year is
always tough on boaters. The temperatures outside are frigid, most
of our boats are sitting under a tarp, and all we can do is daydream
about all of the fun we had last summer out on the water.
Well,
one way to cure that hunger for the boating life is a trip to the
2008
Pittsburgh Boat Show. Get together with some boating friends,
and come down to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center and check
out all that they have to offer.
Whether or not you are
in the market for a new boat, the show offers boaters a chance to
scratch that boating itch in the middle of winter. There will be
something for everyone who loves boating to see.
The show will take place
on January 25-27 and February 1-3. Check the official Pittsburgh
Boat Show website for more details regarding hours, parking, admission
prices, etc.
Obviously, those looking
to buy a new boat will find some off the best deals on the latest
models. “It’s a great chance for prospective buyers
to see all of the latest models in one place. It’s also an
opportunity to find the best deals on new, non-current, and pre-owned
boats,” said Earl Faust, owner of
Allegheny
Marina, a Rinker dealer.
There are many advantages
to buying a boat at the boat show. Aside from special “show
pricing,” there are also incentives on financing including
lower rates, longer terms, and delayed payments. Also, if a buyer
chooses to order a boat from the factory, they will get the options
and color they want and still be able to get the boat before the
boating season starts. People that order boats later in the year
often miss out on some of the summer weather while they wait for
their boat to come in.
Even if you aren’t
looking to buy a new boat, all of the dealers will have plenty of
information on their pre-owned inventory. “Most dealerships
offer warranties with their previously owned vessels. In addition,
we usually offer the best financing rates on used boats. There are
a lot of advantages to buying from a dealer,” added Faust.
For those of you that
are happy with the boat you have, don’t worry, there are still
plenty of reasons to attend. There will be an antique boat display
along with a Discover Boating display. In addition, there will be
numerous marinas and boating related businesses promoting their
services and products. The
Pennsylvania
Fish & Boat Commission will also be holding boater education
classes at the convention center on January 29 and 30 from 6-10
p.m. Check out the Pittsburgh Boat Show
website
for more information on all of the vendors, dealers, and organizations
that will be at the show.
If you still need a reason
to come out, stop and see us at the BoatPittsburgh.com
booth. We will be there spreading the word about the new and improved
website and showcasing our beautiful BoatPittsburgh.com Girls each
Saturday night. Don’t forget to stop by and say hello.
