Join BoatPittsburgh.com for North Shore Pre-Concert Party

When boats gather at the North Shore for several days, it can only mean two things: there is a Steelers game coming up or a major concert.  This time the boats are gathering on the North Shore for the Zac Brown Band / Dave Matthews Band concert being held Saturday night at PNC Park.

To help get ready for the concert, BoatPittsburgh.com is throwing a little pre-concert party to get everyone in the mood.  Be sure to stop by the FROGGY Flotilla sponosred by Froggy Radio for live entertainment from The Vagrants starting at 3:00.  During the performance boaters will have a chance to win a BoatPittsburgh.com T-Shirt or other great prizes.

Don't miss one of the top parties of thesummer at the North Shore!  For those of you that may be new to the boat-tailgating experience, be sure to check out this article about the required etiquette for rafting off.

Also, don't shoot the messenger, but please remember that the U.S. Coast Guard gave notice that the river will be closed Sunday morning for the 2010 Search for Monongy swiming event.  According to the Coast Guard:

THE COAST GUARD HEREBY GIVES NOTICE THAT THE CAPTAIN OF THE PORT PITTSBURGH HAS ESTABLISHED A SPECIAL LOCAL REGULATION FOR THE 2010 SEARCH FOR MONONGY FROM MILE MARKER 0.0 (POINT STATE PARK) ON THE ALLEGHENY RIVER TO MILE MARKER 0.7 (7TH STREET BRIDGE) EXTENDING THE ENTIRE WIDTH OF THE RIVER.  THE CLOSURE WILL LAST FROM 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM

According to an email from the U.S.C.G. all boaters will be asked to move at 8:30 am.
