The following water event schedule and river closure information was provided by Regatta organizers. Please see below. PLEASE NOTE THE RIVER CLOSURE INFORMATION AFTER THE EVENT SCHEDULE.

Local boaters are welcome onto the Allegheny River near PNC park with BoatPittsburgh.com for viewing of the Fireworks and Laser Shows followed by music and a boater appreciation party.

• Regatta Fireworks Display: 9:38PM Music coordinated with 102.5 WDVE. The fireworks safety zone goes into effect at 8:45 PM. Please see the fireworks safety zone map below.

RIVER CLOSURE SCHEDULE:

Thursday, July 3rd
Full river closure of the Allegheny River from USS Requin Submarine to 9th Street Bridge from 12:00 PM until 7:45 PM

There will be an escorted opening of the Allegheny River from 4:00 PM until 4:45 PM (through traffic only - no docking).

Friday, July 4th
Full river closure from West End Bridge to Fort Pitt Bridge to 9th Street Bridge from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

The Ohio and Monongahela Rivers will open at 1:00 PM and there will be an escorted opening of the Allegheny River from 1:00 until 1:30 PM.

Full river closure of Allegheny from Requin Submarine to 9th Street Bridge from 1:30 until 8:15 PM.

There wil be an escorted opening of the Allegheny River from 8:15 until 9:00 PM.

The fireworks safety zone will be in effect on Friday, July 4th starting at 9:00 PM until the river is re-opened by the Coast Guard on channel 16 after the fireworks. The safety zone for the fireworks will extend from the USS Requin Submarine on the Ohio to the Fort Duquesne Bridge on the Allegheny to mile marker 0.1 on the Mon (which runs from the abandoned bridge pier across the river to the fountain pump building at Point State Park). Please see that area on the map below...



Please check back to BoatPittsburgh.com for any updates during the week and be sure to monitor channel 16 if boating near the safety zones during these times. It is advised to proceed near these events at a slow no-wake speed. We hope you have a safe and fun 4th of July weekend on the river!
