Surprising Crowd Gathers for 2010 Boat Show
Tuesday, January 26, 2010

The 2010 Pittsburgh Boat Show underwent several changes for its 50th Anniversary; most notably a move to the Monroeville Convention Center from the D. L. Lawrence Convention Center in Downtown Pittsburgh. Although many dealers, exhibitors and boat show visitors were skeptical, the 2010 version of the show turned out to be a relative success.
Because of the economic downturn in the boating industry, many dealers were unable to participate in the show; however, the dealers that made it there were treated to a great deal of foot traffic during the four day show this past weekend. Although official ticket sale information was unavailable, many of the exhibitors were pleased with the steady flow of people attending the show. Although the size of the show was noticeably smaller than in past years, many enjoyed the free parking and were inspired by the warm sunny weather on Saturday afternoon.
The BoatPittsburgh.com booth was greeted by many new faces and some familiar ones that signed up for the free e-mail newsletter, Dock Talk, and a chance to win a $50 Get Go gift card and BoatPittsburgh.com t-shirt. After collecting several hundred names and e-mail addresses, Tom Nigra of Natrona Heights was the lucky winner; although, everyone that signed up was the winner of a BoatPittsburgh.com Koozie. Those boaters that stuck around Saturday evening were even treated to
photos with the lovely BoatPittsburgh.com Girls.
The staff at BoatPittsburgh.com would like to say thanks to everyone that stopped by the booth. In case you didn’t make it (or if you did), you can
check out the photos from the show in the Photo Gallery. If you missed our trip up to the Cleveland Boat Show you can also
check out those pictures here.
