Safety Course a Good Idea
Sunday, April 06, 2008
As spring approaches, new and old boaters become filled with anticipation of the upcoming boating season. Although we are thinking about getting the boat ready for the new season, many of us should also think about freshening up our boating knowledge.
There are various boating classes available throughout spring and summer. Whether you are an experienced old salt or a novice, one of the courses offered by the United States Power Squadron, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, or the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will surely meet the needs of any experience level.
Keep in mind that anyone operating a PWC in Pennsylvania must possess a Boating Safety Education Certificate. Most, if not all of the course offered, will meet that requirement.
The basic boating safety courses are offered in many different locations and times to provide the utmost convenience. For a listing of safety course information, please go to the BoatPittsburgh.com
