Wheeling Vintage Raceboat Regatta Offers Something for Everyone

 The Wheeling Vintage Raceboat Regatta is set to hit the water on Friday, September 2. The Regatta will be welcoming over 50 vintage race boat teams from all across the Eastern US to Wheeling, and our race boat pits are open to the public all day. Come by land or water for this family friendly event.
The Regatta kicks off with free musical entertainment in Wheeling's Heritage Port on Friday evening beginning at 7:00 PM. Vendors will be open so come and have dinner while enjoying the great music! On Saturday, opening ceremonies begin at 9:45 AM and the first heats of raceboats take to the Ohio River at speeds of 60-140 mph at 10:00 AM. These heats run until noon and begin again at 1:30. Free posterswill also be given out to the first 150 people at the noon autograph sessions in the pits. While you are there, don't miss the radio-controlled airplane and radio-controlled hydroplane shows, a car cruise, and lots of kids' activities. The Saturday concerts begin at 5:30 PM and run through approx. 11:00 PM. Our Sunday schedule is the same as Saturday except that we wrap up around 5:00 PM (no concerts).
