The Skinny:
The best new attraction for Pittsburgh boaters.
The Real Deal:There is too much to list! Brand new docks provide access to restaurants, shops, and entertainment. Hard Rock Café, Bar Louie, Hooter’s, Joe’s CRAB Shack, Houlihan’s…the list goes on and on. The only downside is the $5 an hour docking fee – but they do have some discounts available. If you are from out of town be sure to catch an incline ride to Mount Washington and the water fountain shows in Bessemer Court. Need a break from the water? Stay at the Sheraton with a view of the city. Plenty to do and see…a don’t miss attraction!
Access To:Just the Facts:- Transient docks.
- Dockhands on duty.
- $5/hour – Includes shore power. Specials on docking rates available.
City of Pittsburgh (South Side) Launch
Monongahela River | Pittsburgh Pool | Mile: 2.4
Sandcastle Water Park
Monongahela River | Pittsburgh Pool | Mile: 6.2
The Skinny:
A great place to spend the day or stop for a drink in the evening.
The Real Deal:
Grab the kids or some friends and take an exhilarating ride on a slippery slide at Pittsburgh’s only water park. It’s a great way to extend your fun on the water. If you don’t want to spend the whole day, you can just stop in for something to eat and drink without paying full admission. For the adults, the Sandbar is a great nightspot on the weekends. Heat things up on the dance floor, cool off with a frozen drink, then heat back up again in the hot tub. Don’t miss the season ending “Drink ‘em dry” party! Pay attention to the channel markers on the Mon, it is shallow in spots.

The Skinny:
Great people that cater to the boating crowd.
The Real Deal:
Unfortunately, the failed impeller on my port motor slowed us up and we missed sampling the food and drinks at the bar; we didn't arrive until well after 10 pm on a Sunday Night. Although the bar was already closed up, they did open up the ship's store and find me the part I needed so I could be on my way first thing in the morning.

The Real Deal:
Awesome homemade food. In-ground swimming pool. Entertainment at the Bar. Cheap Prices. What else could any boater ask for when visiting a marina??? Some of the best food I ever ate while traveling on the rivers. Don't expect a fancy place, but it is clean and well kept. Be sure to tell Herman, the owner, hello.
