Ive been throwing spinning gear for like 20 years, just recently got a casting reel. I wanted to try something new and it was to cheap to pass up! I've been getting the hang of it, casting in the yard, or across the street(oh you should see the looks)!!! There's something to be said for the idiot standing in the snow with his fishing rod. I plan on being somewhat proficient with it by the time it really counts. My question is.... How much different are braided lines on casting reels? I'm spoiled on the fireline on all my spinning reels, but I dont want to waste that expensive stuff cutting birdsnests out. I've been practicing with mono for just this reason. I got some of the new suffix 832 look forward to trying that out sometime. Anyone familiar with how the different lines behave on baitcasters?
