i am looking to pull my boat from bradys bend in the next coming weeks. i just impulse bought a 20 ft sea ray overnighter late last season and admittedly have alot yet to learn. upon picking up the boat, is there a person/place anyone would recommend to take the boat to for a general maintenance/tune up sort of thing to check everything out before i get into the season? any and all info is appreciated.
Probably a good idea to have that boat checked out before you head out this year.
I just dropped mine off at Peggy's on the Ohio, I do not have any experience so far with them, but, don't wait too long as the longer you wait the longer it will take to be looked at.
You might find someone on here to take a look at it, basically you want to check to make sure if you have an I/O to make sure all the boots are in tact so you don't sink it right away, also check your fluids, make sure your bilge pump works, check your fire extinguisher, check your prop to make sure it's not all dinged up.
I am sure others will add to my list, this is a great forum for boating with lots of nice people who are very experienced.
Lots of things can go wrong and you're smart to check it now.
Good luck this season.

Where did you buy the boat? Most boats sold need some work. Thats why they sold it. Some dealers don't always do what they said they would before you pick it up.
Lenny is a good boat mechanic at Millvale Marina.
Outboard Haven is a little rough, but does good work.
Fox Chapel Marina is excellent, but pricey.
Washingtons Landing is reputable.
Buy a manual and do some things yourself. You will need some standard tools and earmuffs so you can run the motor before putting it in the water.
thanks for the responses. i purchased the boat online last season and it came to me in nice shape and ran without a hitch. i know that for sure i need to replace the anodes as mine got chewed up real good at branchport in the two months i docked there last year. still havent picked up the boat from bradys as i've been too busy to entertain that. however, the string of hot weather has me feeling itchy. i have earmuffs and a very basic idea of where to start by grilling my dad for info, as he has been a boat owner for years. he lives in delaware so i dont have instant access. thanks.
