Does Everyone Know That If A Trailer Has Brakes, It Must Be State Inspected Once A Year? Most People Do Not Get Them Inspected, But Pa. Fish Commission Is Checking At Raystown Lake At The Boat Launches.
Yes, Everyone Who Does Inspections Can Do This. The Problem Is They All Do Not Have The Trailer Stickers, Nor Do They Want To Order Them, Cause They Do Very Few A Year.
Motorcycles ArE the Same Way.
the actual rule is any trailer over 3000 gvw has to have inspection done. you need to call first to have them done but if you need a place to get them done is down at Duquesne light fleet care. I can help you out with that problem.
I got my trailer inspected at Push-n-Pull. They just built a new one in South Park near Daniels Discount Hardware Store. They were really helpful and they charge about $60/hour for labor if anything needs done. I would strongly recomend them. Just to clearify the law, if a trailer has a GVW of 3000 lbs. or higher OR has brakes (regarless of Weight) it must be inspected. I know some of you already said that, but no one said both and I though it might be confusing for new owners

There is also a great place that inspects trailers right down the road from Push-n-Pull. It is called NGR Truck and Trailer. It is probably a bit cheaper than Push-n-Pull. If you go down over the railroad tracks it is about a mile down the road on the right. The owner is a cool guy (AKA: My Uncle)
the state inspection book states that only trailers with a gvw of 3000 lbs and above need state inspection. The trailer can be lighter than that with brakes and it does not need a sticker.
Schneider truck and trailer in mckees rocks charges 55.00 for larger trailers, and 30.00 for smaller trailers.
If it has electric brakes, the tow vehicle must accompany the trailer for inspection.

It's a good thing you posted about inspections, I never gave it a thought. Some friends and I boat at Raystown a couple times a year and I far as I know nobody's was inspected.
Its that time of year again, and looking back, did we ever fully find out whether it was "a trailer of any weight with brakes OR a trailer over 3000 lbs" that needs inspected, or was it "any trailer with brakes AND over 3000 lbs" ? I was wondering if anybody ever clarified that further...
