new to area, looking for dock space any suggestions?

We are new to boating this area and looking for marinas or nice place to dock. Any suggestions on marinas, would like to stay on allegheny. thanks in advance for the help.

Any of the marinas on the Allegheny are nice places to dock. It all depends on how much you want to spend and if you are willing to lock through. You might want to call around to see if any of them have and slips available. I heard that Milvale only has a couple left. Silky's didn't have much either. The Allegheny had a marina close at the end of last season, so the 50 boats that were there have caused some of the other marinas to fill up. You will get pros and cons from everyone on here, so the best advice is to go and check out some of the marinas and see if they have what you want. If you want to stay in the Pittsburgh pool, then look at Lock Wall One, Washington's Landing, Milvale, Sharpsburg Islands and Silky's Crows Nest. Good luck in your search.
