    Default Carb rebuild

Does anyone know of a good shop to get a Merc 2 barrel carb rebuilt in a reasonable amount of time? I need to get mine overhauled since my engine change.

Since it's only a 2bbl why not do it yourself. May even to get the rebuild kit at NAPA too along with a few spray cans of carb cleaner. It's a simple carb to do... just take pictures of where everything goes.

Cableguy.. I got a kit off of Amazon.com for my 1990 Merc 2bbl. It cost $43 and was at my house in 2 days. Pretty easy to do and only took about 2.5 hours with cleaning the carb.
If your's is close to 1990 I can give you the part number.

    Smile Carb rebuilding

Ive had good luck with Karb King Karbs karbking.com here in Pittsburgh. They did two Quadrajets off my houseboat, and did wonders for a Holley off my Glastron that was in a fire. I think the rebuilds were $100 plus parts, and they had em back to me in two days.

You could just call Speedway, too, but a new 2bbl is twice that price, and I'd rather support local businesses.

    Just sayin.'

Whenever possible, please support the marinas, dealers, repair facilities, etc. that advertise on BoatPittsburgh.com (and let them know that's one of the reasons you are there). They are the ones that keep this site going. If a particular business that you deal with does not advertise then please ask them to support the site.
