Hello, We just got our boat last year and were interested in boating in pittsburgh a bit. Do you have a list of launch sites close to Cheswick, costs to do so, and where to park your trailer and truck afterwards? Thanks for your help
There is a fish commission ramp in Harmor. No charge to launch or park. You need to be careful because the water is not very deep. Need to make sure your drive is up and don't be in a hurry.
As your a coming down Freeport Road towards Pittsburgh, there is a Catholic Church on your right. Across fro the church is an entrance across the rr tracks. There is a sign for Harmor Marine on the left, by the entrance. Turn in there and follow the signs to the ramp.
There is a nice launch in Springdale at the bottom of Colfax St. too. If you are coming north on Freeport Rd from Harmerville, pass Glenns Custard to the next light, make a right, go to the bottom and cross tracks, you will see the lauch area, even a nice courtesy dock. free launch, alot of parking too.
