I just wanted to say how much fun we had on the float trip this weekend! It was so great being with so many fellow boaters, who love what boating is all about, friends and great times!!!! We highly recommend anyone to do this trip next year. Thank you for a fantastic weekend!
What a great time - you've got a hit on your hands for years to come!
Just a quick thanks to everyone who organized the float trip earlier this month - it was our first and definitely won't be our last!
If it is possible for an event to improve year after year (as it has been suggested this year did just that compared to last year which we missed), I can't imagine how next year's event could get any better... Great food, simply a great planned event, and a tremendous amount of Pittsburgh boaters being Pittsburgh boaters!
Whether it was seeing everyone jump in to help fill the tubes of those they had just met or did not even meet yet, the countless offers to help those whose float's sprung an unsurprised leak, or those whose float looked much bigger in the box on the shelf in the store - I can't say I saw one incident of a boater not being extended a hundred helping hands as soon as one was detected as needed.
I have a feeling this event is going to double in size over the next few years once word spreads - we've already got more friends interested in joining us than our boat will hold for next year, so hopefully we'll have a bigger boat by then and can do more than just a day trip!
Also a big thanks to those who generously provided the boat shuttles to the campground - I didn't catch our captain's name but it takes a special kind of person to take their pride and joy and welcome strangers and friends alike aboard for transportation duty, which the event was fortunate enough to have several such folks. If I can ever repay the favor - don't be shy reminding me you carted us down the Kiski!
Thanks again,
Greg & Amber Nelis
