    Default Bottom Paint Cleaning

This question may have already been asked……sorry if this is a repeat! I have a new to us boat that has bottom paint on it and obviously needs cleaned as it has been sitting in our rivers since May.

My question is, can you clean a bottom painted boat with the same some stuff you clean a non-bottom painted boat that has a fiberglass hull? I have some left over On-Off from the old boat that I was going to start with then finish with some of the Lysol/Peroxide mix to get the rest clean.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

There are special detergents for bottom painted boats. Check with the paint manufacturer to see what they suggest. I have Interlux VC-17, and the scum just washes off with a hose. Any chemicals will remove the paint, or stain it.
