hi all,
it's gettin closer
cant wait to get her wet.
i got a question for you all
what were they thinkin
//[/IMG]
yep filthy but my issue is,
what is that lil piece between my seatcushion and seatbase?
looks like a mistake to me
i havent explored further than the pic
but i will need to move that wood piece out on the left
to make the lip even across for my next upgrade
kinda like
[IMG][/IMG]
yep just like that
i won't be able to make it to the boat for a week
to adress the issue but i'm lookin for thoughts
if i cant raise the cushion and square off the vinyl covered wood
i will have to add something like trim under it
any thoughts?
sorry cant figure out how to downsize the photo
thanks for the support
and as always thanks for the replies
It looks like the seat might have had a little bit of rot under it and covering a piece of plywood was a quick fix.?.? It does look out of place. I know someone with the same boat, roughly the same year, but it is in storage. It will be a good month or so before he gets it out to take a look at it.
thanks Terry,
Greg, you might be right.
in the fall i noticed the L seat back seemed to move a lil bit on the open end.
so if there was some rot at the back of that seat i couold possibly seeing them move that piece back to cover the softies , again
this , although not a great shot this shows where theat skinny board attatches to the back
could have been done last time she was upholstered,,, who knows
[IMG][/IMG]
to tell ya tha truth i would love to take the upper seat back off after the bend and convert into a flipflop so i could sit looking out the stern
i really didn't wana get into upholstry with everything else goin on
yep shes a filthy.
you can see all the greasy aggrevation she has been thru since fall
i'll dig in a lil bit to see if i can straighten it out here soon
for a cheap fix i could prolly cut the vinyl and add a lil piece of trim the length to
even her up.
i need the flat lip across for the upgrade
Greg, could you see if your guy has any pics of his cockpit area. that would be helpful
also at my marina i have a twin boat, he's a member here as well ,i'll try a pm
any ideas would be greatly appretiated
thanks for the support
and as always thanks for the replies
hi all,
good day today! outdrive is done,,,yay it is eagerly awaiting new paint in my basement.

i got rustoleum and a primer with zink(not sure if it will help) any thoughts?
although i didn't have time to figure out that seat thing.
i did have time for this woooooooooooooooooooo

While they do look like they will be nice, the rivers are never very clean. Not sure I want to see all the little particlie. I have a hard enough time jumping in and not being able to see my knees.
On a lake, different story. Hope you get the effect you are looking for, just not sure they are going to shine as far away (be as bright) as on the land.
I would love to put them on mine, but unfortunately have to choose elsewhere for $.
Many may not be saying anything since they are jealous too. (Can't say something nice....)
Let us know on real life results once you launch and get to try them out.

thanks whadya got on yours, any pics?
i got an inside scoop(pittsburgh) before i purchased them and if they do half as good i will be stoked
Lil Buggy, the lights are looking good. They will be really bright in the river.
JZelt, I have the same lights on my boat and they make the river look rather cool. It isn't as bad as one would think. I wouldn't go with white lights on the river at all. The blue makes the river look like you are in the Bahamas. LOL.

Thanks again for the bird dog Greg, cant wait! wooo.
agreed white would be brown around here, so for now that leaves blue n green.
thanks bkpursuit, i dont think they'll bother you any unless you have them mounted too high and you blind boats behind you. or they wana check them out,,, lol
from what i can tell they shine deep in the wells on either side of your drive. it shouldn't shine above the water, just light the roostertail a little.
latest project was to take my newly mated outdrive home, clean it up and paint it.
one of the problems was my upper outdrive was a mess with pitting from no annode for a long time. this is what it looked like
the lower was in pretty good shape.
i sanded with a detail sander for too long to admit. i bought a random orbital sander,,, sweet! it made short work of the pitting. i got a little nervous and stopped before i got to baby bottom smooth these pictures were before the random orbital did its work
i purchased the paint can on right
and the right primer lol,
then it was time to prime
1 coat, the stuff covered beatifully, note the annodes will be replaced before the unit goes into service
now it was time for the paint. i used 2 coats, 1st coat 1 hr after primer, so it would get a chemical bond, and second coat 24hrs later
here is the finished product. still has a little pitting but the second coat smoothed it out better
it looks grey in the second pic but it must have been the light,,, lol
i will send the prop out to be done,, not sure where yet.
and i still have a lot of pitting on the gimball ring and bell to adress
i got the call the engine is back in the boat
waiting for the newly refinished drive.
i kinda hope i have to do bellows,,,lol. it would make it much easier to get the pitting off the gimbal ring and get a fresh start on all the electrolosis
for the latest update, i had a few suprises.
the 3 bellows were done drive is on and installed before i got a chance to adress the pitting on the gimbal and the bell. so i will address that soon.
my battery switch was burried in the engine compartment i really wanted easy accsess to it without moving everything on that gynormous engine hatch lid everytime i wanted or needed to switch. so here was my resolve, we put a deckplate on the lid between supports which allowed easy accsess to the battery switch. here is the loacation on the lid
and here is a shot thru the hole,,,lol
my big ol meat hooks have no troubles switching now and once carpeted the black deckplate should all but dissappear.
i also had the pleasure of gettin my summertime friend outa hock, lol. she is all done and ready to go and she is right outside back at home waiting for the canvas and the boatpittsburgh super secret hull cleaning mixture,,tm,, lol, to work it's magic
more updates soon
hope everyone is having fun gearing up
i also wana thank the us postal service for delivering part of one of my up and coming upgrades, no hints, lol but i'll show u this as a teaser, lol
more to come
Business card kind of gave you away?
Stainless steel cup holder illuminators? or just interior. Either way, they look like they should be plug and play. If it was me, (and I have given lots of thought to it), I would have multiple switches to be able to control different areas. My thought is when running at night, some lights might hinder visibility, so could turn those off but allow other sections to be on...
Of course, that idea is only good if I am on the right track.
