Default Day/Overnight trip to a Lake advice

Our 19 foot open bow sea ray is currently resting in the climate controlled section of Brady's mine. I live in Robinson township and our local marina usually don't put their docks in until just about Memorial day weekend.

I was wondering if you guys could recommend a great lake that's nearby Brady's bend that we could drive up pick the boat up and then take it to the lake for the day and probably the night for some camping with my wife and friends like in the middle of may. Do you think the water would be freezing cold this time of year for tubing etc? Or do you think it would be better to pick the boat up a different day and then head to the lake? Leave me your thoughts and opinions on boating in a nearby lake in the middle of may. Thanks in advance!

not sure of your home port,
but i am willin to bet a few marinas will take you in transient style till yours opens up, (just a thought)

as far as tubing goes, no not me.
way to cold for me then,
the outdrive suffers from a lil underpropping at those temps

From Brady's bend, you would have Shenango (west) 1 hr, Alleghany Reservoir(North) 1 1/2 hr, Raystown (East) 2 hr, East Branch (North) 2 hr. est driving time. Most of the campgrounds are open mid April. It will be cold, but doable depending on air temps. (Wakeboarded over Easter Vacation one year with 80 deg air). Water will be ~45 deg.
