Default boat bumpers made from barge poly rope

    hi all,
a few decades ago i worked on one of the longhaul towboats
we traveled from clairton to the second lock on the mississippi
anyways i'm bringen this up cause we used to make bumpers for landing on the lockwall
    and other mooring situations.

and i cant for the life of me remember just how we did it.
i got a nice 2" section of poly and i can't seem to make it work.
my contacts are all dried up, and i searched around to no avail

any help would be greatly appretiated

it would make a kick butt rafting bumper

I hope this the place to put this question-Any knowledge on the first thing to buy for winterization of boat? I got an instructions by looking up weatherization of boat but it does not point to the first thing I should have done, it is hard to understand. Thank you. any help would be appreciated. Sharon.

No it's not really the place, start a thread in " general boat maitenance " but its ok
I take it to my mechanic, but I'll take care of the sinks etc,,,,
You should get a mechanic that you can trust to do some of the work,, winterizing is important and if done incorrectly it could be quite costly
That being said, if you wana try it yourself open up a thread and we all will talk you thru it.
    Hope it helps

I am responding to lil buggy- Yes we did go on trip to Emsworth-Sewickley and spent two nights sleeping in boat anchored at side, at least we thought. Then the boat started drifting into someones personal dock. I do not think there was any harm done. Sharon.
