I just took notice that what was Lock 3 on Allegheny River (mile marker 14) is now Lock 2. Does that mean the lock by Highland Park bridge is Lock 1? We always call "Allegheny Lock 2" when we hail lock master.

Ahhh...never mind. I see it's Lock2...COMMA...Lock 3...COMMA...lock 4, etc. I misread. But, now I see 'our' lock (lock 2) is only open from 8 M till midnight. That's a change from last year.

What do they mean when they say (lock 2, formerly lock 3), have they renumbered the locks? Does any of this apply to what was called lock 2, as of last year (the lock under the Highland Park bridge), that's got a few of us confused?

You need to reread the schedule. Lock 2 is under the Highland Park Bridge. Lock 3, now Bill Young is under the turnpike bridge. The numbers have not changed.
