    Default VHF Antenna

I'm in the market for a new antenna for my ship shore radio. I guess those shakespears seem to have a life span of 20 years or less. Anything I should be looking for in a new one. Any dos or don'ts.

I replaced one on my Four Winns a few years back. Shakespeare seems to be the best brand. I just got the basic vhf antenna. for what we do on the rivers i don't think you need anything special. if i was going to be offshore or on the great lakes then i would want the best possible.

also - they make a nice little connectore for splicing the cable. it just saves from having to run the cable all the way to you vhf radio. it is only a few bucks but wellworth it if you have a long or difficult run to your radio.

    My Suite,
I Highly Recommend The Metz Or The Shakespeare Models. There Are Many To Choose From From Economy To Expensive. Good Luck.
