Do you spend a lot of time on your boat during the summer? And do you cook while you're on board?
I'm a reporter with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette who is working on a food story about galley kitchens. I'm looking to interview boat owners who do a lot of cooking on board, and would be willing to share recipes as well as talk about what makes galley cooking different from cooking at home. Depending on the boat/story, we may also want to photograph you on board.
Big boat, little boat - it's all good. We'd love a variety.
I think what makes galley cooking better than cooking at home is that you're on a boat!
Summertime grilling outdoors is always better than being inside, and if you can do it over the water too that's even more of a bonus. We usually cook some pretty good meals down there. I have a houseboat so there is a full grill on the front and a small range/stove inside along with microwave, etc. I know others that have a smaller kitchen but still make some great food.
That was a very nice article that Gretchen McKay wrote for today's PG. I enjoyed it and in case you missed it, here is the link. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/09183/981091-34.stm It is always nice to have boaters portrayed in a different light other than a bunch of drunken sailors on the river. Thank you Gretchen. Kudos!
