Quality Tube

I'm going to be looking to buy a single person tube to pull behind my PWC in the near future, can anyone suggest a reliable and reasonably priced tube brand? Or are they all pretty much the same? My friend said that they tend to pop but I don't believe much of what he says, as he thinks he's an expert on everything. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I would say get an overtons and look at the massive selection they have. If you can't find what you wnat in there, your in trouble. I have had two tubes in the last ten years and have just recently had one leak air, but that was only a pinhole, no popping. Personally i dont think too much thought has to go into picking a tube,. just what you like and and what you are after.

O'Brien makes pretty quality stuff. The Le Tube series has been around forever and they are resonably priced.

Some input. We have a 3 person tube something like

That likes to have a heavy person on the back to lift the nose out of the water and the straps from dipping in. (Attaches by 3 straps on the bottom of the tubes). Does not like to take turns/wakes as much. Challenging for driver to keep riders on but fun for littler kids if you don't wreck them.

This one with the hole in the center typically sits higher in the water. It makes it more difficult for novices to get on from in the water. Trick is to hook your elbow in the hole, have the driver idle in gear and with both hands and feet, "dolphin kick" you way onto it. As a driver, it is more tipsy and therefore more fun as you can throw the rider off at will.

Very low to the water,solid form and extremely stable. If you picture the wider part being the back and handles toward narrow part. If the rider can hold on and glass water, you can literally have the tube almost off the water in a fast turn... Very frustrating to wreck the rider without risking injury. Extremely stable and easy to get on from the water.

I won't buy a tube unless it is under $70. (3 person came with the boat when we bought it from previous owner. Wouldn't buy another one for the price). The last 2 mentioned I have had over 3-4 years and when they are used, they are abused. (no easy rides with this driver unless it is your first time or under 13). More air, harder hits, more action...

Inflation is the key. Don't overinflate, don't underinflate and don't store it wet (hard on the cover). We do leave ours inflated all the time (put it in bow to support bow cover when towing/storing) and deflate it in winter time.
