With as much rain as we get around here, I think having it covered well with a cover that does not leak is important. The boats get wet enough when we are using them and could use the time to dry out in my opinion.

I have an open bow and the cover I choose was a 2 peice cockpit, it's nice to be able to leave the bow cover on when it's chilly on some days, if I shut the window the boat stays warmer.

Personally I would go with just a cockpit cover. If you keep your boat in a slip, it is much easier to take it off and put it on. If you are trailering your boat, then a full cover is a better option. You can tie it down so you can leave it on while traveling to and from your favorite boating destination.

Listen to Greg, full covers are a pain in the butt, the snaps are real low and it's very hard to snap them in a slip. I totally agree. I can snap mine off in 2 minutes and back on in about 5.

Greg Nellis did mine, it's totally custom fit for my boat.

You can get a one piece "cockpit" cover that covers the cockpit, the window and bow. that way you wont leak in the window - bow connection..
    thats where most leak.

Custom cover is the only way to go.. talk to tumacs in pleasant hills.. or Greg Nellis...

The way Greg did my cover and the way it overlaps at the bow windows it's like a shingle, the water cannot come in, the only time I've gotten water in my boat with my new cover is when I did not have my pole setup correctly, the water "pooled" on the cover and some dripped in.

Get a vented pole top also, they do a nice job of venting heat and moisture out of your boat.

I got a 19 foot cover made that was a one piece cockpit and bow cover for 450 at tumacs..
just know what you want when you go in...(fabric and where all you want covered)

Nellis is more expensive but has the customer service end nailed, will talk with you if you dont know what you want and knows alot more about making custom covers and when to use which material...

    so price depends...

Fountain Canvas made mine. Shelly did a nice job with it. I think it was around $500 for it using Sunbrella. I have a 23' Cuddy Cabin also.

Mine is still going strong, just make sure you have your pole adjusted properly because if water pools on your cover it will drip over a long period.

My boat is dry everytime we go down.
