Monster Flatheads

Hey folks, one of my favorite passions is fishing but when I bought a boat I wanted something I can entertain on (best of both worlds), so I got a ski fish boat. Anyway, one of my favorite fish are large flatheads. My two largest to date are two 30lbs. (39" & 38.5"). My best this year so far is a 19lb. I caught last night. I attached a pic of a 19lb (34.5") and 17lb. (34") I caught last night on the Ohio.

I've had a more than a few monsters. I had one on in Roston just below the marina that broke a 30 pound test braided line and jumped out of the water twice. I was in less than 4 foot of water. I like beef liver left to rot in the Frigidaire for about three weeks. A little chum helps. Crooked Creek has a nice cat population also. I like 18- 20 inchers for eating. I don't keep many. I think I kept two last year. I caught a small one on a deep running plug last year in the Tartown area last year in a patch of weeds 18 ft deep.

you guys might think its funny
but i swear by treat(like spam but a little cheaper n better)
use the lid to cut into slices quarter in thick, also use the lid to cut the slices into strips(each slice has six strips)
i like floating jigheads the most but plain hooks work good also
find da schools n hang on
cant keep em off the hook.

last year i got a heavy 35" flathead at dusk coming out of the raccoon creek to eat.
biggest one in about 5 years

this holds well in a cooler, get many days outa 1 can as long as it doesent get warm, it will leech like mad in the water.
if u get the right spot u can crush em all evening long

outside bends seem to work best in the mighty ohio
especially where it drops back in the main channel
