    Thumbs up Summer Concerts

Since Kenny Chesney probably isn't touring this summer, it looks like we may have some good alternatives. Dave Matthews is coming to PNC Park July 10th and KDKA just reported that Billy Joel/Elton John will be playing at PNC Park this summer as well. They mentioned that the date should be announced next week. Let's hope that we get even more concerts this summer.

Kenny saids that every year we will see! I hope a few bigger name bands come to station square this year as you can hear them very well from the water.

Would love to get the date of Billy Joel ? Elton, sad that the this ampitheatre is like not nearly as nice as the old one at Station Square, but still happy to see another venue that is boater friendly sooo, hoping for the best.

I couldn't make it to a lot of the events last year due to engine problems. I'll have a brand new one this year

How well can you hear concerts from the water when they are at PNC? Do you have to be right outside of the park or could you hear from a couple of bridges away? Last year we went to 2 sky blasts and we couldn't even hear anything (couldn't even tell there was music) and we were by the last bridge by the point. We would love to lay on our boat outside for billy and elton.

Most of us do not go to the north shore for the concerts. We go for the great times, good fellowship, and to make new memories.

When there is a concert at PNC, you can hear it on the river. I listened to Bruce Springstein when he played there. It was great.

For just a concert, you are generally allowed a lot closer to the stadiums than you are when there is a skyblast night.

We were down for 2 skyblasts last year and tied up on the city side between Clemente and 7th street bridges. Could hear the music but could barely make out any words. For us, the Skyblast nights are about having fun and taking a few friends out for a ride.

Have never tried to listen to a concert at PNC or Heinz. Went to Buffett a few years ago at PNC (actually had seats inside the park) and could see my brother on his boat outside. He said you could hear it really well. I think the sound system for a true concert will much more powerful than the ones they set up in 20 minuters for skyblast.

I heard that the Billy Joel/Elton John concert isn't going to happen. Hopefully I am wrong. At least DMB is still going to be there. The more concerts that we can hear from the river, the better.

I'd like to hit B.B. King, Heart and the Clarks. Being laid off is such a catch 22. I want to get back to work to have the money to do stuff, but I'm not hating being laid off and having the TIME to do stuff. Hmmm, maybe I need to stay unemployed and have the wife get a second job...

    LOL

I can send your wife the classifieds from this past weekend

    Just kidding Mrs Nitsuj

Enjoy it while you are laid off, I've worked since I was 15 years old, I'm 50 and tired of it--- I was laid off for 6 months, but I did not enjoy it worrying about money.... I should have partied.
