Very cool, is the chamber open yet? Web site says by the 28th.

Yes it has been open since before the weekend. I think they got done a few days early. Now I just need the boat to be ready to actually go through the locks and up to Pgh!

I wonder if they found anything interesting in there when they first drained it....

There was a large rudder on the bottom when we were down there. It didn't look like anyone was in a hurry to move it but maybe they clean up anything large before the fill it again. Last year, I believe, they found a very large prop from a tow boat or other large boat. I forget how many feet it was but it was huge, heavy and expensive. Last I heard the lockmaster at Emsworth had it mounted out by the front gate but I have yet to go look at it. I drive by there all the time, I'll have to do that if I remember.

Just went through the locks for the first time this weekend and this was really sweet to look at now that Ive been through Emsworth.
