Pittsburgh to Parkersburg, WV

My mother-in-law lives in Parkersburg, WV and is looking at cruisers in Pittsburgh.

Has anybody gone from Pittsburgh to Parkersburg (or Marrietta, OH) by river?

I am wondering how long it would take... if it could be done in a day or weekend... and where the gas and overnight stops are.

We have gone from Wellsburg to Fox chapel on the river in both sport boats and a 47ft houseboat. The sport boats take about 4-5 hours depending on lockage. The houseboat took about 8-10 hours depending on how we ran it. From here to Marrietta it is about the same but one thing is for sure make sure your fuel is topped off because Moundsville's Prima Marina is the last place for fuel until you get there. The first night the best place to stay I would think would be Rayland Marina which is right before Pike Island dam.
