Hello All - vBulletin has finally, and supposedly, gotten all of the bugs worked out of the facebook connect module so you should now be able to link up your facebook profile with your boatpittsburgh.com forums account and use that to login or register, etc.
This is brand new so we will be testing and working on any problems. If anyone could post on this thread if it works, does not work, or any other suggestions/comments about how it is setup and ties in with your facebook profile, we would appreciate it!
I've noticed so far that it may not keep you logged in very long, but if you just click the FBconnect button again and you are on facebook, then it remembers you. It is something we will have to figure out as we go and improve upon the connectivity to facebook and other sites.
If you are connected via facebook, be sure to click the "Publish to facebook" checkbox when posting a new thread or reply if it is something you would share with your friends. Help promote boatpittsburgh.com!!
It is designed to help make the login process or registration process for new users easiser. It is one less password to remember and also if you are linking your accounts or registering it can bring over your profile pic, any friends (if they too are on boatpittsburgh.com) and some basic bio info etc.
Most importantly, it can share things on your wall if you ask it to when making a new post or a reply (currently on in full reply mode, not quick reply). This can make it easy to share a story or opinion with friends on facebook which also helps create inbound links to this site. So, if you think a particular thread or reply you are writing is important, click "Publish to facebook", and help get the word out about BoatPittsburgh.com!
