fishing conneaut lake any tips or secrets?

I fished conneaut early in the summer and did ok. i have heard there some monster bass in the lake around the sand bar area, can anyone tell me where that sand bar is?

It is on the launch side (public or fireman's) of the lake (by the lilly pad cove, slalom ski course I believe. (I'm not a fisherman, so I will give up all secrets I know).
There is also good fishing off the swimming area about 50-100 yards, I guess there is a shoal out that way.
