    Default Stabilizer Hydrofoil question

I'm considering buying an SE-300 hydrofoil stabilizer for my 40hp merc O/B. Does anyone have any experience with them? Are they worth the investment.
Any other tips or info or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Default hydrofoil

In My Opinion, They Do Not Help. All They Do Is Weaken The Cavitation Plate, And Break Off.
If The Cavitation Plate Was Meant To Be Extended, The Manufacturer Would Surely Do It, If They Believed It Helped.

    Default prop blow out

The reason I'm considering installing one is that my boat suffers some prop blow out in choppy water. I thought a hydrofoil/stabilizer might help.

If you are getting prop blowout, you might need to either get a bigger prop or lower the drive height. What is also called the X dimension. My understanding with outdrives is that you can lower the mounting height of the motor, which puts the prop deeper in the water so you dont get the blowout. Call around to places like Outboard Haven or Pittsburgh Prop and ask them about how to fix the problem. Hope this helps.
