Thank you to all who made the mooring during the concert possible. It is nice to hear that all those who enjoy the city and her rivers have been included for the weekend festivities. It is now up to the boating community to do our part and not be a$$holes when its time to untie on Sunday.
Can you shed some light on mooring outside of Heinz days before the concert. I've heard rumors of power boat practices before hand that may influence tieing up. Is thete any restrictions on tieing up before the concert?
1. Both Coast Guard and River Rescue have told me that they will only be enforcing the closures as posted in the "Notice to Boaters." They have verbally told me that they do not have a problem with boaters tying up to the North Shore for the Kenny Chesney concert as long as they are out by 10 am Sunday and do not block access for the commercial vessels.
2. I have emailed the City of Pittsburgh Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security twice and called twice and they have not yet responded in any way.
