Does anyone know what's up with Branchport? Has Wayne gone MIA? Does anyone have any info on the 2011 season concerning Branchport? No one I know has even seen a reservation down-payment request from Wayne for the 2011 season.
Not looking good. Branchport didn't make it through the high water very well. The one walk way is on its side, the power lines are down laying on the fingers, alot of welds were torn on fingers, and a really bing silt problem. Any of the shore side fingers are sitting on silt. If you pull in bow first you might make it but anyone who backs in will definitely have problems. Keep in mind it was there over the weekend and the water is still a little on the high side yet.
I am not sure there is any way that Wayne will be ready for may let alone this year. I put in a deposit somewhere else to make sure I have a spot. If he opens I will be back.
I think about 40% of the Marina is not useable right now docks are twisted and sinking down past the bathrooms and all the way at the other end past where justin docks. not long ago it was real nice place to dock. Then we lost the ice machine then a year later no jetski crane now then year after that no showers now this year i dont know what to think or say.
We made the same decision at the end of last season.
I guess its safe to say, Wayne either uses any insurance money he gets to fix the place up and try to win your business back.
Or he buys a bigger place in florida.
Great location for Boat Pittsburgh Exclusive Members Marina, should it become up for sale.
By the way who owns the Poop hole right down from Branchport. Was that ever a marina?

Reason: typo
I believe you are referring to Island Boat Club. Was a nice place at one time, had a pizza shop that delivered by boat to nearby marinas. The floods have had its toll on the place.
When you come down the steps that dock is twisted also and a tripping hazzard. Half the lights on the poles down work so your more likley to fall on the twisted docks at night. There is no eletric on the poles so i hope you dont ever want to vaccum your boat out or charge your battery if you end up with a dead one. Please is just down right a crap hole now. The weather has been very good for the past two weeks and not one thing has been fixed so i think its a safe bet this is as good as it will get and only get worse.
I was told by another person who docks there that tracked him down after almost falling in the water by the bad docks. that that is the way its going to be and if you dont like it you can find a new place to dock. Glad the quality and features of the marina went down by about 50% by my dock fees stayed the same. Its going to be like Island Boat Club that was down the river in another year or so. So sad cause it used to be very nice. I like walking on the docks and watching the rust and paint fly off as you walk.
JM......Wayne has said things to a close friend that you just don't say to someone unless you have given up. Things that I do not wish to discuss b/c it is pretty personal.
It is a shame though. So many people have offered to help out and the offers were turned down.
I don't know Wayne, but from what I am reading, he is starting to sound like Earl who used to own Allegheny Marina. If you didn't fix it yourself, it wasn't getting fixed. Look at Allegheny Marina now... It is closed. I hope that doesn't happen to Branchport. We need as many marinas around as we can get.
Its sad cause it was and could be a nice place to talk again with a little work. He used to paint the docks every year but they are all rusted and most fo them are twisted and sinking. I think a good 30% of the people who used to dock there did not return this year and from what i am hearing down there another 50% wont be back next year sadly. I think Wayne is having some health issues and i wish him the best but sad thing is if he wanted some help i am sure most of the people down there would show up on a saturday and help get the place back to 100% with out complaing at all.
Wish I could get my $50 deposit back from Wayne. My wife and I were there in early May with a check for the slip and were really disappointed in the condition of the place. It was disgusting. We found another slip at a different marina for the season but I bet I'm out the 50 bucks.
Bummer, but glad we didn't give him the rest of the money. I hope he makes that place good again. He was a nice guy when we were talking with him and his wife.
Wow, I wish I had checked this forum earlier. I've been calling every week since May 15th and he keeps saying to call back in a week because the end where my slip is wasn't ready. I've missed a month of the season now, and it sounds like I should quit waiting.
I just have a 16'er, anyone have leads on where there are vacancies? Peggy's is a no go because I have a dog that loves the boat, and I heard newport is all full. I left Lock Wall a message.
